Concerns have been expressed about the manner in which Fort Worth Via Media has compiled a newsletter mailing list. This list has been assembled from public records, referrals from interested Episcopalians and a few parish directories of members and fellow Episcopalians. The newsletter contains an email address, as well as a post office box, for questions, comments and additions/deletions to our mailing list. Based upon past experiences, we knew that the diocese would not help us. It is vital to members of our diocese that they each have the same opportunity that all Episcopalians have; that is, to read the undistorted information about the issues of the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion. We believe that it is far better to delete someone from our mailing list who objects and wishes to be deleted, than it is to fail to contact one who feels alienated and confused as a Fort Worth Diocese Episcopalian. We believe that this use of published Episcopal parish directories by Episcopalians to spread news of the Episcopal Church is of the highest ethical standards. |
